13th - 20th August Here for the World Orienteering Championships. Running 6 days in the French Grand Revard festival. Staying here has been delightful, a truly beautiful place. Went to Chatillions on the rest day, on Lake du Bourget - much nicer than busy Annecy. Had a delightful lazy lunch then a quiet swim in the lake. Walked over to La Compote and had a drink before walking back. The walk through the wood gave us shade from the hot sun. Certainly surprised by the beautiful French countryside. Would recommend the accommodation and area to anyone. Lovely to see flower meadows full of butterflies, redstarts, lizards etc. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The Bradburys X P.S. We all did well in the running festival! Yeah!

30.07.11 - 13.08.11 A very relaxed and laid back 2 weeks on our second visit to the stunning village of Le Chatelard and the beautiful chalet. The weather has been, on the whole, very pleasant. Our favourite days out were:- Annecy - Busy but worth the visit Semnoz - Fun louge and stunning views Lescheraines - Lake, from which we caught a 5lb trout which we had for tea and the Go Ape course Thanks again for letting us stay in your lovely chalet with the view which never fails to amaze us.

Just returned from a 2 week break and I have to say that La Bonne Vie did not disappoint - unlike the weather (July '11). The chalet is located on the edge of the village in a modern development but is not overlooked and is well appointed, with mountain views in all directions - even the odd golden eagle soaring overhead! As for Le Chatelard, a 5 minute walk from the chalet, it is a great base to explore the locality and the Massif des Bauges in general. If you are into shopping, this may not be the place for you (try Annecy instead) but if you like walking and relaxing, you'll love it. We explored even further south when chasing the "Le Tour"... but that's another story! In short, highly recommended.

March 5th - March 12th 2011. Had an excellent week at La Bonne Vie with fantastic weather every day. Attractive, modern,well-equipped chalet in a lovely peaceful area yet very convenient for visits to many interesting towns eg Chambery, Annecy and Aix les Bains. The ski area at Margeriaz is very scenic and ideal for families and beginners/intermediates. Very good new supermarket in Le Chatelard.

The "Alpen" packet view from the chalet is probably the most stunning view we have had from our holidays. The chalet itself is perfect - beds very comfortable and living / lounging / cooking area - ideal for our family. Your books and DVD's better than the usual dross. Skiing at Les Aillons - was icy and in parts a little bare but Margeriaz is a hidden gem for beginners and for people of all abilities. We really enjoyed it there. Ate in most nights but enjoyed Les Clarines for one meal and the owners were very accommodating. The holiday has been perfect for our family, especially in that time after Christmas day when time can go by less productively. Thanks & best wishes,

La Bonne Vie - 21st August - Had a fabulous 2 week stay in what I can only say was a fantastic chalet in a fantastic location. We loved Le Chatelard, so quaint and unspoilt. Scenery around the area and the Alps was just amazing. Annecy and Chamonix were great but we were always glad to get back to the chalet for the peace and quiet. Night sky was unbelievable, could spend hours gazing at the planets and stars. Would definitely return if we were to revist this area again.

We stayed at La Bonne Vie for ten days from 31st July and our only complaint is that the stay was too short! The chalet furnished is to a very high standard, very comfortable with all mod cons. The views are even more stunning than the pictures on the website and at night the sky is amazing, the lack of light pollution means the stars really shine, we saw several shooting stars too. We have four children ranging from eight to fifteen and have stayed at several French holiday camps with all the clubs and activities they provide, so we were a bit worried that we might struggle to keep them entertained while staying at an Alpine holiday home in the summer. Glad to report there is loads to do ranging from lazing on the beach at Lake Annecy to thundering down a Luge at Semnoz, Kate and Ian have thoughtfully provided a comprehensive folder full of local attractions and there is a local Tourist Office, we went away feeling we had barely scratched the surface. The acid test with any holiday is “would you go back?”, in our case the answer is a unanimous YES!

We stayed at La Bonne Vie in the first week of July 2010. Not being skiers it was the first time we had been to this region of France - we absolutely loved it. The dramatic scenery, the wonderful lakes - both Annecy and the small leisure area at Lescheraine were both fab in their own way. Lots to do for all, I just wish I had brought my road bike! The chalet was ideal, everything we needed to look after a 5 person family and what a view! We will be back. Keep it up folks.

The chalet (La Bonne Vie) was everything promised by the publicity. A very well designed and kitted out chalet for a family holiday with all the 'mod cons' and a bit more. As we stayed during the World Cup period, the option of following it all on TV was a bonus (or was it?) Would recommend the chalet to friends and for those who want a quiet, relaxing holiday but with plenty of activites for people who want to get out and about and do things. Kind regards

Hi Guys, Having spent a week working at Ian and Kate’s chalet in the summer, I can truly say how wonderful a location it is. Although working very hard, we had the chance to experience the local towns and villages during the evenings and very much enjoyed meeting the local people as well as lovely meals out. Whether in the summer or during the winter this location has it all!! I am truly smetten by the area and am looking forward to a week of golf with Paul in September and to a spot of skiing in December. If you want to de-stress this has got to be the perfect location and I am now keen to share the experience with my wife and family. Thank you Ian for the opportunity to go out there, it has to be the best weeks work I have done to date (even though you worked us so hard and we only had cold showers for the first few days - lol)!!
