24-31 May A lovely week in Chatelard! It was great to arrive and find a beautifully clean and comfortable chalet, very thooughtfully stocked with everything you might need on holiday, books, DVD's, all appliances to make for an easy relaxed holiday. All easy to use. We both loved the area and friendly people here. Went to Annnecy, visited Eglise St. Maurice in the old town and walked around new and old parts of Annecy, saw some big fish in the lake! Walked to Cascade du Pisseau, Margeriaz and other areas all equally enjoyable, especially Chamonix to visit Mont Blanc, went up in the cable car (went last year) but this time a clear sunny day, fantastic and very memorable.

The chalet is beautifully situated, stunning views, very well equipped, spacious, clean and great to cosy up in of an evening. It is very well situated and the surrounding area is full of places to explore, with plenty of quality local butchers, bakeries and cheese makers selling tasty treats! There is lots to see and do for all ages and the locals are all very friendly and helpful. Melanie who provides a catering service to the Chalet is excellent and we would highly recommend her food, which is to a very high standard. We had a lovey week and hope to back again in the future. Thank you both again.

Spent a great week at the chalet, exploring the surrounding area. The chalet itself comfortably accommodated six people, was clean, well furnished and had everything we needed for cooking etc. The chalet has a great view across the valley of the surrounding mountains. We're keen cyclists and the area is great for riding. It may not have some of the bigger famous cols but there are plenty of great climbs in the area (Semnoz and Mont Revard being two that also provide fantastic views). It was useful having a garage to keep the bikes in rather than leaving them in the car etc.

5/6/2014 Had a lovely week at your beautifully appointed chalet -what wonderful views from every angle. As we have been to Annecy, Aix les Bains, Chambery many times in the past we tried to visit as many local sites as we could. We found a postcard in your copious notes and maps and managed to leave the car and walk to most of the "sites pittoresques" on the card- some of them q.difficult to get down or up to but we old codgers managed it. The 400 year old Chapelle de Bellevaux was most interesting and La Cascade du Pissieu cooling on a v.hot day. In all we had a v.pleasant week with only one rainy day' Ken and Pat Harris Liverpool

We visited La Bonne Vie through the end of February and into March. The Chalet was an easy drive from Geneva Airport and situated in the picturesque village of Le Chatelard. There is a large supermarket that is just down the road from La Bonne Vie and open from 08:00-20:00. The Chalet itself was incredible with accommodation for 6 and a large dining table, spacious kitchen and huge corner sofa. There is a DVD player and sky available, so perfect for the cold winters nights with the log fire burning. We spent a few days skiing at the resorts, Le Aillons & Margeriaz; they were only a 15 minute drive away. They were very easy to find as are well sign posted and the ski hire and slope passes were very reasonably priced. During our stay we also visited the towns of Chambery and Annecy; we would highly recommend both and also a trip to Le Revard to view the surrounding area.

Had a great time at La Bonne Vie during the February half term. The chalet was excellent and an ideal base for exploring the nearby ski resorts. Highly recommend Margeriaz as a great starter family friendly resort. I was surprised how quiet is was for this time of year. No queues for the lifts and the pistes to yourself...brilliant! We will be back next year....thanks again.

We are a family of 6 and have stayed in Ian's chalet twice and both times we have been impressed with the quality and value for money. Thank you.

A fantastic 11 day stay for the three of us and one that will be long remembered. La Bonne Vie has been everything we hoped it would be and the views will be sadly missed once we have gone. For September the weather has been great. The first week saw temperatures up to 28°C before a colossal thunderstorm knocked them down. After that, and our only full day of rain, it remained very pleasant and didn't stop any of our outdoor activities.  Highlights for us include:-

- Annecy, the old town and the fantastic market that we visited twice on separate Tuesdays. The range and quality of the produce was astounding!

- The market in Le Chatelard on Friday. It only consisted of about 5 stalls but again the quality was great. Can highly recommend the roti chicken, it kept us in sandwiches for days!

- The bakeries in Jarsy & Ecole. The baker in Jarsy is obviously a real craftsman and very proud of what he does. Can highly recommend the olive fougasse.

- Cycling around Annecy lake, the east shore provides spectacular views , the west is a little disappointing as it follows an old railway line away from the lake. I would recommend turning round at the southern-most point and repeating the east shore route.

- Mountain climbing around the Dent d'Arclusaz, although the steepness of the climb after the Chapelle N-D de Bellevaux was something of a challenge with an 18 month old boy on your back!

- The view from Mt. Revard. I was truly stunned by the height of Mt. Blanc.

I could go on, but I won't, except to say the Les Clarines serves lovely food and surprisingly presented us with an English menu! Overall it's been fantastic and we would love to return in the future!

Our second visit in 2 years. We loved our stay so much last time around, we came back! We have had a great week and managed to pack so much in. Some of our highlights this year have been:-

- climbing almost to the top of Mt Colombier: ran out of time and energy on a very hot day.

- taking a pedalo out on Lake Annecy and swimming in the warm water.

- Alpine roller coaster in Chamonix: a long drive but a great day out.

And lots of other walks. And not forgetting the swims in Lescheraines. We wish we were able to stay longer. Thank you.

Thank you Ian and Katie for letting us stay in your beautiful chalet which has everything you need, even spectacular views! We have done so much: swimming in the lake at Annecy & Lac du Bourget, had a fabulous walk up to the top of the ski runs at Margeriaz and even saw a marmot! There is so much to do in this area that we would love to come back next year and explore further.

Thank you again, Andy & Val Glass, Witney, Oxfordshire

P.S. It was great to see the Etape go right passed the chalet with 13,500 cyclists!!

We very much enjoyed our stay in your delightful chalet - in fact the best place we have ever stayed in France according to Dad! Log burner is lovely and makes the place very cosy, but beware - the temperature rises fast!

The views are spectacular - even on a cloudy day. Viewpoint at Mount Revard is well worth a visit. Annecy makes for a delightful stroll and has some lovely shops. The chalet has been very thoughtfully designed and has everything for a cosy stay - home from home.

To all future guests - Enjoy! You have a wonderful holiday ahead. xx

We stayed here from 24 to 31 August 2013 and had a delightful time. There was nothing that could have been improved: the chalet was immaculate, the views and surroundings gorgeous, local entertainment (for adults and children) varied and suited to all tastes. We visited Mont Blanc and the Vercors, and more locally visited Annecy, lakes and a tree tops adventure course (NOT for the faint hearted!). A lovely time.
