Superb Chalet We've just returned from our stay at La Bonne Vie. It's a very clean and well appointed chalet in a beautiful part of France surrounded by excellent views. The weather whilst we were there was superb so we were able to visit some of the local sights as recommended by Ian. There are still many to see so we'd love to return.

Week in the Le Chatelard A lovely chalet with magnificent views and handy for the high Alps. Le Chatelard is a lovely village and we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent house, excellent location, excellent weather. The location was beautiful with fantastic views all around. The garage was a godsend. We were able to ride our motorbike in and unload the shopping in the cool, and turn it around ready for the next day! The information pack provided gave us plenty of things to do and places to see. The place was both clean and comfortable, and well equipped. We may have to return!

One of our young guests left this poem in the chalet.

La Bonne Vie, I call it home, It and the village, In which I have roamed.

I sit upon, The balcony, I look around, And what I see...

The mountains rise, Like guards of stone, And I know, I'm not alone.

We really enjoyed our stay in the house, very comfortable for 2 adults with 3 (large) teenage boys. Well equipped kitchen and good dining / lounge area. Ideal holiday location for walking, running & cycling and also visiting nearby Annecy.

A well-equipped, cosy chalet. Beautiful location to explore the many surrounding attractions. Owner Ian was very helpful and quick to respond to queries. Highly recommended.

What can we say about those views from the chalet.... The property is a well appointed and in a lovely location with the peace and quite of being rural but an easy drive down to beautiful town of Annecy with all it has to offer. It would take months to fully discover this area and its surrounds there is so much to do, swimming, cycling and walking to name just a few things readily on offer. Cyclists take a note of Stage 20 of 2013 Tour de France, this place is a cyclists dream... take your bike!!! After a day out grab a pizza at Le Feu de Bois in Le Châtelard and bottle of Cote du Rhone, can't be beaten. And for those lazy days.. just enjoy the views from the wonderful chalet.

We had a lovely time in the chalet. Marvellously presented with all of the home comforts we are used to. Really useful having the cave to store my bike and other equipment while we were there. Highlights of the week were the trips to Lac du Bourget (where we enjoyed a lovely swim and a leisurely picnic) and my early morning cycle rides over to Lake Annecy and back! Fantastic scenery around every corner. Would love to return the next time we are in the region. Thank you so much Ian!

A fantastic stay in a very well-appointed chalet, one of the best we have ever stayed in.  Everything we could have wished for and more was provided.  Stunning views from the balcony at the front and a lovely eating-out terrace to the side. Annecy was busy but beautiful - best parking was on the outskirts of town with a walk around the lake into the town centre.  The Cascade de Tyroliennes zip wire course at Aillon Le Jeune was great for teenagers and took three hours so a good half-day activity.  Lovely beaches with good facilities at Sévrier and Doussard and the chance to swim in Lake Annecy whilst looking up at the mountains.  Pizzas from Le Feu de Bois in Le Châtelard were excellent.
A very highly recommended chalet in a beautiful area.

16-23/8/14 Fantastic views from Mt Revard over to Mt Blanc. Annecy picturesque but traffic a nightmare - we visited on Tuesday & parking non-existent in centre - park on outskirts and walk round the lake! Spent a lovely day at Aillons station - horseriding, ski lift, walking and swimming. Equestrian centre there great although would recommend some riding experience for younger children as some steep hills on trek - my 9 year old who rides regularly loved it! Lovely midday meal at La Grolle in Lescheraines, 12.50€ for 3 course menu du jour. The children (6&9) enjoyed the Belleveaux valley in the easy hikes book. Weather great, views from gite lovely. Gite well equipped & comfortable.

21-26 July Really enjoyed the chalet, lovely accommodation, even had one night with the wood burner. Very enjoyable time. Annecy is lovely and worth a visit, also Aix-le-bains. Some nice short walks from the chalet and the picnic spot by the river! View from the chalet absolutely great and enjoyed watching the changes in the weather!

July 5th - 19th Here we are back again! Once again we have had a great time in your lovely chalet in this beautiful region. We have had quite a mix of weather with 9 days of rain and very, very low cloud. One of our highlights this time was a trip to Col de Petit St Bernard where we drove through fresh snow to Italy. Once the sun returned and the temperature up into the 30s we had many lovely walks in the mountains. One of our favourite walks is the climb up the mountain at Margeriaz where we saw at least five marmots and some very strange looking mountain sheep. We also had several trips in and around Annecy. Spent many hours at the top of Col de la Forclaz watching the parapenters taking off. We very much hope to return again next year!
